The German automobile maker Audi has finally launched the facelift version of its flagship SUV in India the Audi Q7 almost after two years that was discontinued due to updated emission norms.

The SUV is now powered by a TFSI turbo-petrol engine and it’s the only engine option available.

The Audi Q7 has always been extremely popular amongst its segment. The Audi has done a great job in this facelifted version in terms of styling, features and comfort.

Exterior

The new Chunky bumpers and the vertical chrome elements into the front grill and a sleek chrome lining at the rear make the SUV look wider.

The redesigned Matrix LED headlights with daytime running lights and the rear tail lamps do enhance the overall poshness of the SUV.

The SUV sits high on 19-inch alloy wheels in India, while a bigger size alloy option is available globally and can be soon available in the Indian market as well.

Interior

The touch and feel of materials on the dashboard, steering wheel and throughout the cabin is top-notch. Option of 30 colours have been made available for ambient lighting to enhance the opulency of the cabin

The pop-up infotainment screen has now been replaced with a new 10.1-inch screen that is integrated into the dashboard. The infotainment screen supports numerous apps from the Playstore along with Android Auto & Apple Carplay compatibility.

An additional touchscreen is provided below the main screen to eliminate physical buttons to operate the climate control system.

Technology & Features

The list of features onboard in Audi Q7 is quite long. Along with the dual-touchscreen on the front, the second-row passengers are also provided with an android powered touchscreen display to control the audio system, climate control, ambient lighting and much more.

Bang & Olufson’s 3D sound system is made available with 12 speakers, 4 tweeters and 1 subwoofer.

Like the previous version of the SUV, the adaptive suspension technology is carried forward for a better ride quality experience. The driver also has the option to choose between comfort & dynamic driving modes. Electrically operated last-row seats and tailgate add convenience to the user.

Safety

The pre-facelifted version of the Audi Q7 already received a 5-star overall safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The facelifted version comes loaded with numerous safety features such as 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera, an anti-locking braking system, hill hold, front & rear parking sensors and much more.

Engine

The facelifted Audi Q7 now gets a BS 6 compatible 3.0-litre turbocharged TFSI petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system. It produces a power of 335hp and a peak torque of 500Nm.

The Quattro all-wheel-drive system is now standard and is linked to an 8-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.

The top speed of the Audi Q7 is 250km/hr and the company claims that the SUV can do a 100-meter sprint in 5.9 seconds.

Price in India

The Audi Q7 comes in two trims starting from approximately 80 lakhs(ex-showroom) for the base variant to approximately 88 lakhs for the top of the line variant.
